This response relates to the following e-mail question: Subj: Re: Stock Allocation Date: 1/24/00 3:10:13 PM Central Standard Time From: cpapp@merck.com.ar Sender: owner-bpcs-l@midrange.com Reply-to: BPCS-L@midrange.com To: BPCS-L@midrange.com Thank you Les, my problem is 'exactly' as you've described. Sometimes the operator performs a lot allocation in Order Entry, and then in the warehouse, some other deduct the quantity from the same lot / location, and INV500 allows it without a WARNING message. Are you suggesting to solve the problem by modifying the program? I couldn't believe that there is no natural way in BPCS that allow me control this Lot Allocation. Don't you know if something in transaction setting could make BPCS works in another way? I really don't want to modify the source program. Thanks Claudia ---------------------------------------------------- Claudia: For your condition, INV510 contains logic to display the warning message UMI3560: "WARNING - transaction > qty avail. due to existing alloc., F13 to override." This logic is NOT found in INV500 and there is NO "natural way" for you to control this situation. I am suggesting that you modify INV500 to provide this edit check. This change is straightforward. Please contact me directly if you would like assistance in performing this modification. Thanks. Les Mittman, CPIM BSI Consulting, Inc.
