We are using loading code 4 both for costing and capacity; however, I'm 
wondering whether we should change all of them to 0 since we aren't running 
capacity planning.

 The reason our engineer was referring to costing is because we now use the 
cost rollup functionality to roll up the run times for routings for all parts 
that go into an end item.  This data is used independent of BPCS for 
scheduling.  It is very unorthodox, but we are using this end item factor to 
load different product lines.  Different product lines have different criteria 
such as calenders, capacity, etc.  Although we have some of the BPCS scheduling 
tools, we don't use them because they don't seem to offer the same flexibility. 
 Also, based on the volume of sales orders we have, it isn't very realistic to 
wait until MRP and capacity planning run to schedule customer orders.

I've been looking into the bill of resources functionality.  I see where you 
can identify critical workcenters in CAP100.  However, from the archive info it 
looks like you have to create bills of resources.  Does this have to be done on 
each end item?  Is it typical for people to use this only with capacity 
planning CAP500?
