We're running into somewhat the same situation. We use to use Order Policy Codes, i.e., Order Policy As are MTO items, all other Order Policies are MTS items; however some of are Order Policy Hs are also MTOs. Then we said items w/ Minimum Balances=0 are MTOs and all others are MTSs; but then we started to use forecasting and zeroed out some of our Minimum Balances on stock items... We are on 4.05 CD, I thought I heard that 6.1 had a solution for this, but I'm not positive. Good luck. It is important to us, especially in planning, to understand when an item is one or the other. We can't seem to find a good way in the item master or the facility master to designate this information about the item. What approaches have others taken?
