>From 2000, we started run BPCS 6.0.2 client/server, at beginning, I setup
the client version on windows 98, after the user PC upgraded to windows
2000/XP, you must install the old version (such as V3R1M3) client access
express, due to the BPCS 6.0.2 client /server use SNA protocol to
communicate with the host(AS400) and the new version client access express
is different with the old one, so please try install AS400 client access
express(V3R1M3) then setup the BPCS client/server 6.0.2, it will solve the
problem, furthermore, if your windows 2000/XP is chinese version or set up
the language to chinese, the value with decimal place will not appear.

Older versions of FRW will not work on XP.
You will need to get and apply BMR 39659 to upgrade your ALAUNCH program
as well as several other BMR's to allow FRW to work on XP.
We're fighting through this right now.

Does anybody have experience of using BPCSv6.x Mixed Mode Client Software
on Windows XP?
We are currently doing a rollout of XP desktops and have done some testing
on XP and have not yet encountered any problems with COM software (we only
use Order Entry and RMAs no CEA).
I would appreciate any learnings from anyone who is using 'old' BPCS
software on XP, keeping in mind that for example the 6.0.02 Mixed Mode
software was originally used on Win95.

Check the BPCS archives ... there has been some past discussion by BPCS
users who use this.
Also check OTHER midrange_L archives ... there are other discussion groups
for other ERP on the iseries 400 that might also have info useful to you.

Gerald,
We have used it since last year. We use 6002plf Full C/S. This only can
run on English version, we have tested on Chinesse version but it is
unable to run.

We are running 6.04 mixed mode and have given up on FRW. We are rolling
out
'Spreadsheet Server' from Essential Finance. (www.essentialfinance.net)
It's an add-in for Excel and can prepare nicely formatted reports
incorporating all Excel functionality AND you can drill down from the
report to the GLH details. It sold itself to the finance users.

Hi,
Gerald, we are using BPCS v 6004 MM Client on WXP.
It was necessary to install BMR6457296, but it work fine (CEA) now.

Has anyone on this list had experience with an AS400 based field service
application. In use the remote reps would use laptops to sync their data
with the host's on a daily basis.
