we're talking about the configurator not the general ledger. there is an
option in the configurator that seems to tie configuration strings to a
template. we're believe this give you to option to enter a configuration
string and if what you enter matches a 'template' then you can use a
predefined part number rather than generating a new order specific
configured part number. this all happens around the CFG572 screen, but
we're not sure exactly what is supposed to happen and how to use th
template.

It would depend if you are talking about configuring the postings into
the
ledger and have established some templates to copy for different
reasons such as
item classes cross referenced to different accounts or configuration
management which is something entirely different. The latter would be
something like
setting up making pizzas and you can have different ingredients and
maybe cook
in a smaller oven if it is a small pizza or perhaps cook longer if it
is a
deep dish, etc.

Determining what the definition of "configuration template" would be
trying
to understand the context of what prompted you to ask the question in
the first
place.

Good luck.
