In fact what you want to know is the cost in the facility where the Lot is
manufactured. So what you could do is look up the Transaction History (ITH)
file and find out the warehouse where the PR transaction for this Lot took
place. You can retrieve the facility of this warehouse from in the
Warehouse Master (IWM file) and check the Cost Master (CMF File) for the
cost in this facility. I realize this solution requires that you have to
look up the transaction history every time you want to know the cost of a
Lot. What we did to avoid this is enter the facility in the Manufacturer
field of the Lot Master every time you create a new Lot. With that your
logic of creating Lots remains flexible (no prefixes) and you can easily
look up the Lots that are created in a certain facility by running a querie
report that shows you all the Lots with a certain facility code in the
Manufacturer field of the Lot Master.
