* There are several vendors who subscribe to this list that would be happy
to sell you BPCS manuals. They cost around $ 200 to $ 400 each. You need
to spend over a thousand dollars to get a comprehensive collection. It
may be that someone at your company bought some of these before you came
to work there. You can also download sample pages from some of the sites
that sell BPCS documentation, or the whole thing in the case of the IBM
Redbook on BPCS.
* There are several vendors who subscribe to this list that offer a
variety of teaching environments to get people rapidly up to speed on
various aspects of BPCS. I think the best is when a BPCS professor is
brought to your work site for about a week, to provide a conference room
full of co-workers a University level class in various aspects of BPCS ...
then several months later do that again on a different aspect of BPCS.
This is more economical than a bunch of co-workers traveling to the vendor
site.
* However, if you are on a zero $ budget, then
# 1 locate the documentation that comes with BPCS in the file BPCSDOC and
plan on spending 10-100 times as long figuring it out, as you would spend
if you had a good $ 250.00 BPCS manual.
Access to DOC is a subset of SYS security. Because we want people having
access to DOC but not to SYS, we have made that stuff available to our
work force by means other than the DOC menu.
Also, F1 is universal HELP KEY throughout BPCS.
If you are on a menu, press F1 and scroll for a summary of what each of
the options can do.
If you have started a program, press F1 for access to some documentation
on that particular program.
Your company modifications may not have this support if past employees
have not made use of the documentation ... what is the point of a
programmer working on something that no one uses?
Hi All,
Can anyone in BPCS group can send BPCS documents for my learning and
understanding purpose.
Thanks in Advance
