Marcel, It is not too easy to answer this question because there are many ways to use QMS but let me describe the way I use to work with QMS in BPCS V6.1: When you want to use subsequent testing with a different testing level then the normal testing you need to define additional samples and tests in the specification that is attached to the item that is subject of quality control. These samples and test has to be related to the subsequent testing level. In the Item/Manafacturer relation for this particular item you will find a subsequent test line with 2 test level fields. In the 1st field you fill the normal testing level and in the 2nd the subsequent testing level. When you perform a PO receipt for this item/manufacturer BPCS will generate 2 dispositions: Disposition 1 for the normal testing level. This disposition sets the lot status for this lot to Q. Dispostion 2 for the subsequent testing level. This disposition doesn't have an effect on the lot status. Once you approve disposition 1 the lot status will turn to A. The approval (or rejection) of disposition 2 does NOT change the lot status. I hope this answers your question. Regards, Harold Swaanen Bladel-Netherlands swaanh@xxxxxxxxxxx
