Re: Old Records in BBL
Hi
We had to look at cleaning up some ZL BBLs but wanted to understand how
they had occurred first. In our caase the majority were not special
lines.
This may not apply to you but I proved and tested the following in the
situation we had (I had contacted Infor to ask what could create ZL BBLs
but was advised that although the issue had been reported before to them,
no one had ever found a reason/scenario - I advised them of mine for
future reference) :
The BBL's (in my case) were set to ZL as a result of an RMS contract being
made inactive before the whole of the order was completed and invoiced.
The Sales Organisation Parent also gets blanked out on BBL and the lines
in ECL get set as though they have been deleted when in fact in my testing
they have been shipped and were just waiting invoicing..... so had LQORD,
LQSHP etc. populated. When the RMS contract is made inactive it then
deletes the lines regardless of the processing already on them. In our
case these lines had not been invoiced.......... The site concerned had
been using financial orders when they realised (in some cases) that
invoices had not been created but had not reported it as an issue to us...
There is a BMR - BMR63318 - though we will just using the workaround
making sure that no RMS contracts are deleted without the whole order
being complete.
Hope that helps someone, it might not be your scenario for ZL's on BBL but
it one I have tested and proven (we are on V6.1.00).
Regards
Christy

subject: [BPCS-L] Old Records in BBL
Hi,
We have a lot of old records in our BBL file. Some special charge
lines have billing request dates in 2003. Most have an ID of 'BL', but
some are 'ZL'. Is there a purge program to clean this up, or is there
some kind of checking I can do to determine if it is 'safe' to delete some
of these? Thanks!

You can execute a Select SQL statement looking for orphaned BBH and BBL
records by checking the order status in ECH. Once you are satisfied that
the selected records are correct you can change your SQL statement to
DELETE...
