We are currently looking into the exact same thing. We have a meeting
with Infor tomorrow and I will let you know what I find out.
Last year I modified BPCS to do a step between their infinite scheduling
and true finite scheduling. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share all the
details of how I did it or what exactly I did publicly but if you contact
me offlist we can talk a bit more.
I can tell you that it involved putting in my own "exit" points for the
scheduling engine to circumvent their standard scheduling to use my custom
code for "finite" scheduling. We don't schedule against a wall clock, but
we do consider the amount of time a workcenter has available based on its
current load.
Thanks

[BPCS-L] Anyone know of a free standing scheduling app?
Anyone on the list know of a third party, i Series based, finite capacity,
production scheduling package?

Want to interface to BPCS to do both short term scheduling of firm and
open
shop orders as well as long term scheduling of the full production plan.
