I'm a "newbe" too, so it's time to say hello.

My Job is nearly the same as Alans:
Only the TCP/IP communication and let the RPG-Crew do the boring stuff ;-)

But I write and test my C-Code on an PC (the AS/400-Dataqueue is a
PC-pipe-file), because I'm originaly the "PC-Guy" in our firm.
IBMs online help system is sometimes hard to understand (only for me ?), but
mostly it's better for finding as the Bookshelf & Bookreader which was
shipped with the AS/400 (pardon iSeries).

BTW:
Thank's for the tips about Dataqueue - it's not so hard - if You know how...

Oups...
There is a little question too:
After more the two hours try 'n error I got access to a file with
   open("//QSYS.LB/MYLIB.LIB/MYFILE.FILE/MYFILE.MBR",...);
is there a short path to access a file with only one Member ?
