No longer necessary, and no longer existing in its broken form. :-)

I'll publish the project on Github when the first part is working.

p = (char *)&keys;

I have done some mixup here. Sometimes I confuse * and &. Additionally, I apparently can't correctly memorize the correct syntax for typecasts when pointers are involved.
