No resolution Tom - just a general agreement that it is (yet another) bug in the pre-compiler. We were able to use an SQL DEFINE block to isolate the data definitions so that as far as the pre-compiler was concerned the identifier was unique and therefore no qualification was required. Messy because structures had to be moved around since for some idiotic reason you can only have one declare block but ... in this case it worked. Might have to resort to RENAMES in some instances but I'm not even sure this piece of %$%#$ can deal with that. Thanks for reminding me that I have to report this thing. Jon Paris Partner400
