Is there a reason you are not using logical views of the files in question?
Almost all of the programs in question read a transient file, filter it and sort it in order to generate a different transient file or produce a report. The object here is to get the programs converted and working without major revision. Being new to the iSeries world, I am not yet familiar with logical views. I do appreciate the suggestion and will keep it in mind for future tasks.
