  There is no API nor command interface to change a *QRYDFN object, 
nor any interface to create-from-source that is provided by the 
Query/400 feature.  There is only the interactive WRKQRY [optionally 
entered via QRY for s/36e] by which the *QRYDFN object can be 
modified; except for run-time override by OVRDBF or QRYFILE of 
RUNQRY, but that is of little to no assistance for changed files. 
Refer to the following message which gives comment about keyboard 
macros or other similar 'screen scraping' methods, and mention of 
plus links to a usage of the Virtual Terminal [VT] APIs to 
accomplish changes via the interactive interface, presumably with 
little user intervention:
