I would agree. I have 20 years of both technical and business experience, but it seems that you need to find a few good recruiters to work with. The problem I see with the dice.com places is the multiple listing of the same job. I don't really understand why the client does that, I never practiced that when I was the Director of IT. I am yet to find one that really wants to build a long-term relationship. If you find one let us know. This year has been ok, still have quite a bit of work in small and mid-size business, downside is the rate is not where we want it. I use the discount method in these times to keep the cash flowing, we have had 3 clients go chapter 11. Business is all about cash. This has also allowed a little higher rate, but lower if they pay on-time. You can even create profiles, and you will receive a notification, the next morning, of jobs that potentially fit your skills. However, I found the notifications to be too late. When I sent resumes the day after a job was posted, I found out I was too late. They had already been inundated with responses. I tried to send my resume within an hour or two of the posting. I, also, have many specialties. I have over 16 years of experience. Specialized areas are EDI, ERP, manufacturing, distribution, etc. It was a very tough year, and I wish you the best of luck. >From: Richard Reeve <richreeve@yahoo.com> >Reply-To: consult400@midrange.com >To: consult400@midrange.com >Subject: RE: [Consult400] AS/400 Consulting/Contract Programming >Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2001 08:43:36 -0700 (PDT) > >I generally use email as the means of contact.
