I doubt that this is a domino problem. Did you check the firewall logs ? Is the
firewall setup to allow traffic on port 110 ?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / best regards

   Thema: POP mail timeout

Hi all,

I am trying to access POP mail through our Firewall, MS ISA Server, without
any luck on our Domino 4.6 Server on OS/400 V4R3.

I am able to send email to the SMTP server from outside through or Firewall
and it gets to its destination.

But for the life of me I can't retrieve mail from the Domino Server when I
am outside the network.

I get the following message using Outlook Express:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'Test for ISA', Server: '203.152.250.45', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

When I set up a POP account with my Hotmail account is tries to connect but
say it timed out.

On our internal work, I can connect with Outlook Express to the Domino SMTP
and POP servers without any problems at all.

Are there any settings I need to change? Or has anyone had similar problems?

TIA

Nathan Simpson
