We use LEI to replicate the NAB into a DB2 file. We've customized the NAB to add an employee number. We don't use job accounting on our 400. So, in all of the user profiles on the 400 we use the accounting field for the following: ##.### - ##### where ##.### is their location number and ##### is their employee number. We also do a DSPUSRPRF to an output file every night. Then we have a little routines that extrapolates the employee number from the user profile and uses that to determine the employee number. Once this is known then we bounce against the LEI file to get the email address. With this info we can use email api's on the 400 integrated with our ERP. Authenticate notes users from RPG using ange.com LDAP? 10/18/2001 01:07 PM Please respond to domino400 Fritz, The domino server is on the same as/400 I'm working on. I've not proven any technique for LDAP auth from RPG, I guess that's what I'm asking. I don't necessarily need to sync with the as/400 directory, but if that's easier, I can do that too. None of this comes natural to me (or the people who'll have to maintain it when I'm gone) I'm just looking for the quickest and/or easiest way of verifying notes users and passwords and maybe querying other notes NAB info from a native 400 application. Thanks for responding, Rick > The challenge to LDAP is which directory to use: The one maintained by Domino or the AS/400 version. If Domino is on the 400, and you've proved the technique of LDAP authentication from RPG, you could query Domino via LDAP. >Domino does have native directory synchronization with the 400, if there is a Domino server on the 400. _______________________________________________ This is the Lotus Domino on the iSeries / AS400 (DOMINO400) mailing list To post a message email: DOMINO400@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/domino400 or email: DOMINO400-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/domino400.
