Rob,
As a speaker at Fall Common, Lotusphere 2002 and an attendee at MEC
2001 it seems all events are affected.
Speaking with other attendees at Common and MEC it seemed that the events
of 9/11 were the primary reason for lower attendance at all the events.

Not only did Lotusphere not sell out in the first morning like they used
to, but they are still trying to drum up attendees.

Is it the economy, Osama, timing, location, or a lack of a benefit?

We've never sent anyone to Lotusphere, but send people to every COMMON.
Boss keeps hoping for a free trip to Lotusphere as a speaker. Here, I'd
say it's a toss between the economy and whether or not there's a benefit.
