One added benefit of this is you can use any SMTP server to send the mail out, and it does not have to be on the same box that your program is running on. Ignite400 has an article on it here (which I haven't read yet): http://www.ignite400.org/news/news2002070401.htm based on a HOWTO I wrote here: http://www.estes-express.com/rpgjavamail/instructions.html We use Domino's native SMTP to get and send internet e-mail, and this method works just fine for us. All of them have Domino loaded and running. We know how to use QtmmSendMail and various wrappers for it. However, we want to send mail directly via Domino from other iSeries native applications. Apparently on some of our iSeries we do not allow native SMTP and only allow Domino. We know how to turn that on but the powers that be won't allow it. I hear that the HiTest api's are deprecated and will be phased out. Staying at an older version of Domino and holding my breath until I pass out or Lotus fixes this is not an option. We like to stay current. Some people have suggested purchasing some additional software to give you some nifty call to their software. It's been my experience that all of these packages use the deprecated API's. 1) At what version of Domino will the api's stop working? 2) If the api's will continue to work indefinitely, how do I find out more about them? 3) I hear tell about a library called RNHLIB which is supposed to make this api's a snap. Trying to find this library results in broken links or pages that don't work. 4) If the api's are truly deprecated, what is the alternative offered by IBM?
