We run Sametime on a Win2K server. I noticed that it installs its own
version of Domino server. Could it just be that Sametime and Quickplace
do not currently run on top of Domino 6 and need their built own Domino 5
server? Therefore, the only way to run them on an iSeries would be LPAR?

If so, then presumably this problem would go away when they are updated to
Domino 6 compatability.

Rob,

I saw these charts too and they scare the heck out of me!! If you take
them
at face value, they seem to say that if you want to go to Domino 6, you
cannot run a Domino server on the same box as Sametime 3.0 or Quickplace
3.0 unless you LPAR the box. We currently run 2 Domino servers (5.0.8) on
a 270 "yellow" box. This box also is currently running Quickplace 2.0.8.
It looks like we are stuck on 5 unless we upgrade the box and LPAR it or
get a new box. All which will take more money which we don't have. And
so
it looks like if you want to run all 3 on the same box without LPAR, you
will be stuck with "old" versions. So much for Domino 6.

Suppose I wanted to get Domino, QuickPlace and Sametime all running in the
same Domino Partition, and, of course, the same LPAR.

What versions would I need of all products in a late September / early
October of 2002 timeframe? I am running V5R2 of OS/400.

I see the following charts:

What works and what doesn't when Domino and
Sametime are running in the same OS/400 LPAR:
             5.0.9 5.0.10 5.0.11 Domino 6
Sametime 2.5 Yes Yes Yes No
Sametime 3.0 No Yes Yes No
If you are currently running both Sametime and Domino, stay
with Domino 5 or implement LPAR before going to Domino 6

Sametime and OS/400 releases:
               V4R5 V5R1 V5R2
Sametime 2.5 Yes* Yes Yes
Sametime 3.0 No Yes Yes
*DSDs require V5R1 with enhanced DSD-Java support

What works and what doesn't when Domino and
QuickPlace are running in the same OS/400 LPAR:
                  5.0.9 5.0.10 5.0.11 Domino 6
QuickPlace 2.0.8 Yes Yes* No No
QuickPlace 3.0 No No Yes No
*Currently available as a hotfix
If you are currently running both QuickPlace and Domino, stay with
Domino 5 or implement LPAR before going to Domino 6

QuickPlace and OS/400 releases:
                   V4R5 V5R1 V5R2
QuickPlace 2.0.8 Yes Yes Yes
QuickPlace 3.0 No Yes Yes
