Dave,

Maybe some clarification would help...

I have one AS/400 170 running a single instance of Domino. I want to host
two, or more, separate web sites on this one server. One would be the
primary server, www.abc.com, and a second would be www.xyz.com, and I
might want to add a third as www.abc-test.com.

I have one physical network adapter with multiple IP addresses assigned. I
have my internet DNS provider pointing two separate external IP addresses
at my system utilizing two of the internal IP addresses.
        External (xx.xx.xx.25) translates to 192.168.10.8 (www.abc.com)
        External (xx.xx.xx.26) translates to 192.168.10.99 (www.xyz.com)

My question is this...do I need to have (xx.xx.xx.26) translate to
192.168.10.99 for www.xyz.com to work or would it work with the first
translation, since the Domino HTTP server is hosting both sites, making
www.xyz.com a true virtual server with a virtual IP address? Will I need
to purchase additional external IP addresses to add additional sites?

If you are using multiple virtual hosts on the same Domino partition, you
should only need 1 external IP address. Your internet DNS provider should
be able to point multiple hosts to the same external IP address which
should give you what you were looking for.

If you are trying to use multiple virtual hosts on multiple Domino
partitions with 1 external IP address, I don't think you can do that.

If you are running multiple Domino partitions with HTTP, you will need to
bind each HTTP stack to each Domino server and if you are running AS400
HTTP, you will need to bind that as well. If you had 2 Domino partitions
and the AS400 HTTP stack, you would need 3 internal addresses, but you
could only have 1 external address go to one internal address and still do
multiple virtual hosts on that Domino partition.

If I'm not making sense, sorry, I have had a long day.

Thanks,
