Gary,

What port are you telnetting to on the 400? If you are telnetting to the
default port (23, I believe) and the 400 is accepting telnet connections,
you will just get a signon screen. Even if you have multiple IP interfaces
on the 400, port 23 is always just 5250 telnet.

You'll probably want to try telnetting to the IP address of the server you
want and specify 1352 as the port (this should be the port that Domino
uses). What are you trying to do? I didn't know you could telnet into a
Domino server. Any time I've tried, I can't connect.

Mike E.

If I try to Telnet to the IP address of one of the 7 Domino servers on a
partitioned AS/400 it takes me to the IP address of the base AS/400
server. Why would it not challenge me at the original IP address rather
than redirecting me. Each Domino server has its own uniques IP address. I
am going to be placing my mail, SMTP, and web server out in the DMZ and
leaving the remaining 4 internal. So I am concerned that it redirects me
to the internal AS/400 IP address. Just hoping a more knowledgeable could
explain this to me. Thanks
