I'm on 5 but 6 is a not so distant future target. Is ADSYNC required? I
do have a mix of iSeries and NT/2000 servers....

ADSYNC requires a Domino on Windows server.
which can be part of a domain which includes Domino on any platform.

According to the read me file for 6.0.1 on iSeries, ADSync was removed on
the iSeries platform.

You didn't state Domino 5 or Domino 6.

Domino 6 provides a Connector to the Active Directory.

Domino User creation/administration can be performed in AD, The connect
then populates the Domino Directory.

Domino would appear as just another application hooked into AD.

I have a potentially stupid question - don't you just love that kind of
intro?

We use Domino for email, applications, Quickplace, and Sametime. Our
parent company is a huge MS bigot and is now actively working on an Active
Directory rollout. I know very little about Active Directory so please
bear with me.

We have some people who keep on using our use of Lotus products as a huge
issue when the company implements AD - additional products, gateways, etc.
With the move in Lotus to know use more LDAP functionality I would think
that the directory we would use within our Lotus world would be either a
direct or indirect offshoot from AD. Assuming QP 3, ST 3, D6, etc. can
that be the case?

Anyone with Domino knowledge, AD understanding/experience, and patience
for
my ignorance willing to help me understand this?
