The application as you call it would run where ever it resides. From what I
gather it would be on the Domino server.

An agent is a 'chuck' of code that runs in Domino. It can be made up of Simple
Actions, Formula, Lotusscript, OR Java.

Without seeing this applications of yours that does the signing, I would guess
that there is an agent in there that does the task.  You would have to add an
agent to this app that would run when new mail is received into the app and
'launch' the existing agent.  And that is a very simple overview of it. There
would be more detail than this needed to actually make it work.
