Is it the router job?   I had a problem where spam was coming in with a
return address of 127.0.0.1.  The local host.    The router was trying to
send the bounce back to itself.   I restricted messages coming from my own
ip addresses and 127.0.0.1 and deleted the mail.box file.   That fixed my
problem.
