This is why the copy/paste failed.

One some versions of Domino server, 5.0.12 included, the template for 
mail.box includes an agent called PASTE.  Someone was horfing on some 
serious doobage when they wrote that.  IBM recommended that I change that 
to On Schedule - Never.  Upon doing so I could then paste documents in 
there and it would no longer change the sender's name to my own.  I 
believe that IBM/Lotus has seen the errors of their ways and has updated 
the templates of the newer mailboxes to no longer include that agent.

But, evidently since the mail.box doesn't seem fit to replace it's design 
automatically, (see earlier email), you might want to check that out on 
your own.  But then again, how often are you pasting email from one 
mail.box to another?

Updating design of mail.box






My original mail.box was created in 1998.  Lotus was astounded that I was 
able to run this long without rebuilding it.
I noticed that when I opened it with an R5 client I could see stuck mail 
in it.  However I couldn't with an R6 client.  So I went through the drop 
server, rename, start server and let it rebuild automatically.  I noticed 
that it looks differently on the R5 client now.  (It's on an R5.0.12 
server.)  We figured it must have been an old R4 design.

Now I can see the contents in my R6 client.

I tried to do a copy/paste from the old mail.box to the new mail.box. 
YUCK! It changed the From address from the customer's name to my name. 
(pmr 56162,500)

Word of wise.  You might want to delete/rebuild your mail.box(es) after 
you upgrade your Domino releases.  Just make sure they are empty - with 
the older client - first.
