Looks like about 11meg is the minimum size that notes installs those files on the desktop, so the roaming feature is not the culpret. Just checked a new install. Bookmarks 7.75m, names 4.0m. With about 1100 users that is huge. Time to look at another option I guess Thanks Doug Doug Strong Network Administrator St Peter's Hospital 2475 Broadway Helena MT 59601 (406) 444-2125 "Patrick Trapp" <ptrapp@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: domino400-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 01/22/2004 12:32 PM Please respond to Lotus Domino on the iSeries / AS400 <domino400@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To Lotus Domino on the iSeries / AS400 <domino400@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject Re: R6 Roaming user default file size I believe the file size is a combination of the size of the bookmarks.nsf and the names.nsf files. I don't know about other files, but the roaming seems to replicate those at a minimum. Journal is optional and I haven't really used mine, so I didn't count it. I checked the size of those two files on this PC, and they would combine for a total of approximately 30 MB. What is the sum of the sizes of those files for your "empty" user? The thing we have noticed is that the size of the roaming files on the Domino server seems to be a minimum of 10meg. Is there a way to make this default size smaller? We tested with a user with no bookmarks, no address book entries, no journal, and the base desktop and she was 10meg. My file size as a fairly big user is about 13meg.
