Hey all,

A guy here has written a browser based domino app that allows the users to
enter budgeting and forcasting figures. It's a javascript monster, that
works much like a spreadsheet, and works pretty well. The problem is that
it takes a reletively long time to enter and adjust these numbers, and
often the session times out before they finish and they lose all the work
they've done so far.

They've been told to save thier work often, but most are still complaining.
It's used by several hundred users, and they only use the application once
every 6 months or so, so the learning curve starts over each time. We're
looking for a way to allow them to keep this document open for a longer
period of time, without sacrificing the security side of things.

Short of setting the time-out values to a rediculously long time, can
anyone think of a way for this one document on this one application to keep
the session alive past the timeout?

I'm open to any and all suggestions - even maybe a javascript or java
applet that saves the data, or even just hits the server every 5 minutes or
so while this document is open, or something along those lines.

We're on the latest R5 now, but will be upgrading to R6 soon - so an R6
solution would be acceptable. The solution has to work from a browser.

Thanks,

Rick
