Unsubstantiated rumor is that the only thing that Symantec brings to the game is their name and the volume of sales they have in the PC market to give them that name. We even use Trend's product on the desktops. They are faster in generating new virus pattern files. Have not personally seen anyone using Symantec on the iSeries. I respect Walter's opinion. If he says there are several customers using it, then there must be. I also respect the dilemma that he's in. Since he's with IBM he can get his t!t in the wringer by recommending one product over another. Another thing to look at is the support on this list. Seems to be a lot of people using Trend who are ready to offer support. Yet, have you received any user responses to how great Symantec is working for them? You could also try a poll at one of the forums at: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/communities.nsf Another potential for a poll is PollCast from iSeries Nation.
