Chris,

The 400 performs well overall. It's running current OS
and has all new drives and memory a plenty.  I like
the box.  Domino has been problematic in the sense that
mail(x).box becomes corrupt every couple of months 
for no obvious reason.  That obviously sends the router
into a major fit.  HTTP task hangs every now and again.

That said, I would not try to support 10,000 users on a 
wintel farm.  We don't have 10,000 employees, let alone
users.   Simply that domino on the 400 has been a bit 
problematic when compared to the other platform I have
to deal with.

I would advise moving onto a current iSeries platform before saying that 
Domino is problematic on the iSeries.

Would you run your Domino on a wintel server that is 6 years old and 
expect the same performance/stability as running it on a wintel server 
made in the past year or two?
