Once you switch your Sametime to use LDAP instead of Domino directory you no longer see the little green box next to emails from people that let you know that they are currently online via sametime. The problem is that on internal email your coworkers address may be John Smith/DEKKO, or John Smith/DEKKO @ DEKKO. These are the common things you'll see on the upper left on an email from a coworker. According to a couple of technotes regarding this situation, Lotus suggests you extending your LDAP schema to include the John Smith/DEKKO and/or John Smith/DEKKO@DEKKO. Normally they suggest that you find a field that is normally served up by ldap, that you are not currently using and retype this, (or use an agent) to include this for every person document. Or, you add a field and duplicate this information there. Neither really appeal to me. Effort and possibility of error is too much. What I see when I open a person document in my names.nsf is User Name: Rob Berendt/DEKKO Rob Berendt And I am thinking "Perfect, how do I add that to the ldap?" Keep in mind that it's been awhile since I've done any serious Notes development. But I clicked on document properties on the person document and I've yet to find the field that stores it as Rob Berendt/DEKKO. I want to serve up Rob Berendt/DEKKO as another "cn" in the ldap. Now I find out that this information is from the FullName field from the Person Document and they just reformat it upon display. The contents of my FullName field are what you see as the CN and the cn values below: from my DOS PROMPT: C:\Program Files\lotus\notes>ldapsearch -h ldap.dekko.com cn="Rob Be*" CN=Rob Berendt,O=DEKKO mail=robnospam1@xxxxxxxxx st=IN c=USA dominocertificate=03003302 24DD777C 07G01616 G0021140 objectclass=dominoPerson objectclass=inetOrgPerson objectclass=organizationalPerson objectclass=person objectclass=top givenname=Rob sn=Berendt cn=Rob Berendt uid=robnospam1@xxxxxxxxx uid=nospam2@xxxxxxxxx uid=nospam3@xxxxxxxxx uid=nospam4@xxxxxxxxx uid=nospam5@xxxxxxxxx uid=nospam6@xxxxxxxxx maildomain=DEKKO mailserver=CN=GDISYS01,O=DEKKO mailfile=mail\rberendt sametimeserver=CN=SAMETIME01,O=DEKKO Any clues as to how to serve up the Rob Berendt/DEKKO as another cn without having to rekey, or otherwise duplicate, existing information? I'd also like to serve up the DisplayMailAddress as another entry. Sometimes your email has that format on the upper left. http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=474&uid=swg21138689 http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=474&uid=swg21142028 http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=474&uid=swg21160538 Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com
