Don't know.  I'd proceed with caution until you do.  Years ago, with a 
small row of white racks, we were running on UPS and I thought it would 
save battery power to hit the power off switch on the rack containing just 
the tape drive.  Immediately powered down the rest of the racks.  I never 
hit that big red power switch until the day we unplugged it.  And it 
broke.  Snapped off quick as a 3196 switch.

SPCN






This is more of a general iSeries question, but real quick.... I have an 
820 attached to a tape drive rack connected with the SPCN cable. Will it 
give me an SRC or cause any problems if I just unplug the SPCN from the 
rack? I need to move the rack to make room for another server and don't 
want to have to take down my current 820. Will it hurt if I just leave the 

SPCN disconnected and forget that it exists...?
