Are you running all the DPARs out of the default memory pool or did you
setup a pool(s) for Domino?

We run out of the default...

The way we estimate our buffer pool:
Issue a SH STAT DATABASE
Find the DATABASE.DBCACHE.HIGHWATERMARK entry and record it: (eg. 1200)
Divide this number by 3 since 3 entries for every 1MB of storage are cached
(eg. 1200/3 = 400)

You can also PercentAvailSysResources to manage the memory. This variable
is a little more tough to come up with the settings. You can guesstimate
it with starting at 80%, you divide it by the number of DPARs. Then you
add a couple a percentage points for higher utilized servers while
subtracting for lower. You also should add a couple for servers with
larger mail file sizes. Honestly, if you have support agreement with
Lotus, I would call and have a memory performance eval performed and they
will make recommendations.

Regards,
Eric
