Besides feeding you, the IBM conference doesn't assess you a nuisance penalty tax for not staying at their hotels. And the IBM tech conf hotels are generally cheaper than COMMON...at least comparing the pSeries tech to COMMON in Orlando of last fall they were and the hotels were right next to each other.
