Our upgrade didn't take all that long. It was about two hours for the load
(model 810 with 350 GB storage, using an image catalog rather than manually
loading CD's) and about two more hours to load the PTF Cume and initialize
the system.

We had two significant downsides. When we ordered the upgrade and PTF
Cume, we didn't go through the list of all of the additional PTF groups
such as TCP/IP, etc. Big mistake that caused us problems. PTF's were not
included that caused serious performance problems for Domino. Had to order
those and load them the next weekend.

The other down side for us is that, ever since we loaded V5R3, Domino has
been consuming considerably more system resource. It's usually the
"Server" job that is consuming substantially more resource than it used to.
Our server runs numerous other applications in addition to Domino. We
probably went from about 40% average utilization to 60%. We are Domino
6.5.4 FP3. Haven't set a date to migrate to release 7 yet.

Thanks!

OK for those who have upgraded to V5R3 from V5R2,
can you provide any advise on how long it took?

Regards,

Sean
