At the rate I'm going, I might be in a similar situation -- I've never 
been able to get my Sametime partition working after the initial test and 
burn-in (ran perfectly for two weeks with no users, then when I tried to 
start it to start configuring users against it, it wouldn't start).

Yeah, I already have QP 7.0 downloaded.  So I guess it's a choice of
1 - Get the QP issue resolved before the upgrade.
2 - Upgrade (Domino and QP) now and then attempt to resolve the QP issue.
