My memory is pretty fuzzy for Sametime connectivity troubleshooting but I think I remember that log entries are written by some of the processes -- check for *.log files in the IFS. Also review the startup of the server -- any of the services give bad messages when trying to start ? Should have said so. My boss is the keeper of the networking keys. He's made no changes and sees nothing to indicate a problem. There are no rules between my workstation and the server that might restrict access to that specific port. Access to the other LPARs is fine, but they don't serve Sametime, so I can't say whether 1533 is available over there or not. I can connect to the Sametime server using the Admin client or the standard Notes client. When I tried to connect to the Sametime server using Sametime Connect in the browser (we don't use it here, but it was suggested for troubleshooting on a forum), it recognizes if I fat-finger the password and tells me that I used an invalid password (How does it do that if the server is unreachable?). If I get the password correct, it tells me "Unable to log in to the Sametime server because it is either unreachable, or not configured properly. Please try again later. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator." I have not been able to test the desktop Sametime Connect yet. It was apparently configured properly this morning and no changes were made to the server. No new automatic replication has been introduced and I did not push a replication manually this morning. Changes to DNS, hostname etc ? Not necessarily on the iSeries either -- check for external factors that may impact the server from a networking perspective. Due to other constraints, the server is restarted nightly. This morning, everything was working like normal for the first hour or two of the business day and then it stopped accepting connections. The message that shows up in the status bar of the Notes client when I try to connect is 0x80000223, which other sources indicate is "Connection refused" I see nothing in the logs to indicate an issue and I've restarted the Sametime server -- nothing that I noticed during the restart messages that would indicate an error to me. NETSTAT on the iSeries does not indicate anything listening on 1533 and I cannot telnet to that port, but I'm not sure that either of those are unusual because I haven't tried to do this during normal operation. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. iSeries is running V5R3 Domino 6.5.4FP2 Thanks in advance! _______________________________________________ This is the Lotus Domino on the iSeries / AS400 (Domino400) mailing list To post a message email: Domino400@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/domino400 or email: Domino400-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/domino400.
