We have seen this problem in the past and it came down to people who had
synchronised their calendars with a PDA. Many PDAs a;low you to schedule
an item indefinitely e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, daily or weekly
meetings etc. Notes does not allow you to do this but does accept these
entries from PDAs and sets up thousands of calendar entries which the
Scheduler task dutifully scans.

IBM is aware of this problem and I believe is trying to work with the
synch software developers to prevent this happening.

You will need to run agents to wipe out the excess calendar entries.

Many thanks

Brian

SCHED task hogging CPU

Any clues as to why this task would be actively running for over 12 hours?

I put a PMR in for this last month, but support was never able to
coordinate looking at it while it was happening. Today it's happened again

and I called support regarding the PMR. They said they'd call back within
two hours and well they still haven't called....

Our notes backup (which usually takes an hour) today has been running for
over four hours and it's still running.

Any ideas. I want to compact and fixup busytime.nsf but tell sched quit
doesn't have any effect. Right now I put the task on hold via the green
screen so that the backup and other jobs can catch up....

Regards, Jerry
