MessageLabs does a heck of a job with stopping junk from coming in. We
have virtually no email transmitted virus events anymore, and it is rare
for even the occasional spam to creep through. Another 'fringe benefit' is
that if your SMTP server is down for a short while (or even something in
your ISP's cloud), email coming to you will be received at MessageLabs and
queued for your SMTP server when you are back online (rather than bouncing
back to senders, etc.).

They are not the cheapest way to do messaging security, but it is truly a
enterprise class product that is hassle free 99.9% of the time.

Also, before we started using Message Labs to route our email through it,
Trend used to catch stuff right and left. Since then, nothing has gotten
past to where Trend has caught it. There are no hits in my Log Messages,
nor Quarantine databases.

Granted, email is not the only way to bring in yuck. It could also be
brought in via thumb drive uploading to an attachment into a Notes
database, but Trend's found no hits via their database scan.
