I believe by default it pulls up only servers in the same notes named
network as the users home server. Otherwise you have to manually type it
in.

Re: List of servers

Rob,

It's been a long time since I did this, but I don't think that your
impression is correct. I think that if you click "Other", you have to
type it in, there is no second list.

Also, for those of us we are picky (and who on this list isn't), the
way you type it in the first time will be the way it appears forever
on that particular Notes client. So if you really like it to appear
as "notes01", but get sloppy the first time and type "noTes01", you
will see "noTes01" in the drop-down the everytime from the next time
on that you click "File/Database/Open".

At least that's the way it used to work. I don't see new servers
often since I stopped consulting.

I added a few servers last week. I am used to the fact that when one

File, Database, Open that the server may not appear on the first list
until you actually open a database on that server. However, I am under
the impression that if you select "Other" it should appear on that second
list. Some are not. You can type in the name of the new server
manually,
click open and it will then list the databases on that server so it
doesn't appear to be a security issue. Clients have rebooted since last
week.

How do I get the server to appear in the list of "Other"?
