Jerry,

Some ideas off the top of my head:
1. See if the user can open the Autosave database (usual filename is
as_[Mail File Name].nsf, such as as_JDoe.nsf) in the client
2. Possibly the ACL in the Autosave template (autosave.ntf) is may not
have the "Default" set to at least Reader? User is trying to create an
Autosave database, but has no access to the template?
3. Local encryption on the Autosave database ( as_[Mail File Name].nsf)?
4. Maybe backup then remove the current Autosave database and have a new
one created?

HTH,
Dan

Subject
You are not authorized to that database $Autosave

I have one user (R8.0.1 client) who gets this message (You are not
authorized to that database: $AutoSave) when she opens an email and clicks

on Reply. It happens first thing every morning on the first email she
opens that she wants to reply to. After clicking on OK, the reply editor
appears and she can compose her response. Then things seem to be okay
until awhile later and the error reappears. The only way I can recreate it

is to shutdown, delete cache.ndk and restart the client and it does happen

on the first email she tries to respond to. She has XP with SP2 with
2.?ghz and 512mb of ram so I think she has enough horsepower. The client
also will not shut down properly, and task manager says Notes is not
responding. I'm wondering if the shutdown could be trying to do something
with autosave that it isn't authorized to?

Any ideas?

Regards, Jerry
