We were in a very similar situation.

We also looked at the Cobra product which appeared to give us the features
that we needed but we were also deterred by the need for an additional
server. Our solution was to purchase a Ricoh multifunction
copier/printer/scanner/fax and create a Lotus Notes mail-in database that
has been customized to include additional fields (such as vendor name,
vendor number and invoice number) that can be used for indexing. Our
Accounting department uses the scan to e-mail feature of the Ricoh to mail
the scanned PDF invoices to the customized mail-in database. They have
been very pleased with the results.

My agency would like to start scanning in our mail (and we get a lot)
with the eventual destination being a Lotus Notes document.

Cobra Image Router appears to be what we are looking for except for
one problem: It requires a Domino server running on Windows Server
and the only server we have is the AS/400 server that we run Domino on.

We have an IT staff of 2 (including me) and we have zero Windows
Server admin experience. As a result, we really don't want to bring a
Windows server into our environment plus we really don't want to
spend thousands of dollars on a license for another Domino Enterprise
server.

Do any of you have a recommendation for a similar product that will
run on an AS/400 instead of Windows Server? Or do you have a better idea?
