Thankyou to Brian number 2 too.

That will teach me to read the readme more thoroughly.

Nathan,

In the ScanMail installation instructions (Section 5 in the readme) , there
is a section at the bottom as below. Make sure you follow these
instructions. point 6 fixes the symbolic link problem you have reported.
This is a common problem and it's about time Trend added this to the mail
installation routine. It occurs because they rename (or recreate) the main
program library so the symbolic links need to be changed to point to the
new name.

After upgrading the Domino server, follow these steps to ensure
that ScanMail for Domino or ScanMail Suite for Domino can run
normally.

1) Upload dominofixup.sh to /home. (If you use a different
directory, you will need to replace /home with the directory
name in the command lines below also.)

2) Type "STRQSH" to start qshell.

3) Type "cat" to view server information in
/QIBM/UserData/LOTUS/LOTUS_SERVERS.

4) Locate the right section in the template below for the server
you have upgraded. (The template shows a whole server section.)

======================================
SERVER=AMEN
TYPE=DOMINO
DIRECTORY=/domino/amendata
SBSD=DOMINO02
EXEPATH=/QIBM/PRODDATA/LOTUS/NOTES
CRTREL=6.0.1
CURREL=6.0.1
INFO=AUTOSTART=*NO;
========================================

5) Switch current working directory to the value of "EXEPATH=".

For example: cd /QIBM/PRODDATA/LOTUS/NOTES

6) Make the shell script that we provide executable and run it.

Template: chmod +x /home/dominofixup.sh ; /home/dominofixup.sh

Many thanks

Brian

Subject: SMD error after Domino
upgrade

Hi,

Just upgraded to Domino 8.0.2 on a server running SMD 3.1 (or what ever the
latest version number is) on a V5R4 machine.

During the first restart of the upgraded Domino server I see these messages
in the log...

Error attempting to load or run smdemf.pgm:
Unable to locate program
Error attempting to load or run smdreal.pgm:
Unable to locate program
Error attempting to load or run smdsch.pgm:
Unable to locate program
Error attempting to load or run smdmon.pgm:
Unable to locate program

Where have these programs gone? A search for these programs show they exist
in the TRENDMICRO library.

TIA

Nathan

Nathan,

I ran into the same problem when going from 7.0.3 to 8.0.1. Try this
below.

After installing the latest Domino code do the following (This can be done
while the Domino partitions are up):
1. From a 5250 session use the WRKLNK command and navigate to the
/QIBM/ProdData/LOTUS/DOMINO703 folder.
2. On the bottom command line enter CHGCURDIR
?/QIBM/ProdData/LOTUS/DOMINO802?
3. Locate the file SMD.INI and type a 3 next to it and press F4. In
the Owner field enter *KEEP and press ENTER.
4. Locate each of the following files, type a 3 next to each one
individually, press F4. In the Symbolic link field enter *YES and in the
Owner field enter *KEEP and press ENTER.
libsmdext.srvpgm
libsmlnredid.srvpgm
smddbs.pgm
smdemf.pgm
smdmon.pgm
smdreal.pgm
smdsch.pgm
smdsupp.pgm
smdupd.pgm
