You can control who can see and use a group if you set the Readers field in
the group properties to include all servers, admins and the users who can
use it. No one else will be able to see the group and, if they send mail
to it because they remember the name or by using Reply, the mail will fail
and they will get a non-delivery report.
This technique may help you with your problem.
Many thanks

We've secured the "All Users" group in Notes so that people stop sending
email to all users. Other than LocalDomainAdmins and LocalDomainServers
there are 1 or 2 secretaries that can access that account. The problem
is, despite admonitions to NOT reply to that email people continue to do
so. Here's a scenario:
CEO wants to send a message out to All Users. Has secretary sends out the
email (because even he has no authority to that group). Part of the email
says "if you have any questions contact ...". StupidUser replies back to
the secretary.
Can I register a user that can send out email but not receive? Or uses an
invalid address? Like, if you send an email to dinglefritzATdekkoDotCom
you would get a reply back that there was no such user. Can I do
something like that internally in Notes?
I tried setting up a special user. Secretary will have to "switch id" to
this user. Default signature says something like:
"Do not reply to this message. The original message should have a contact
person if you have any questions. Replies to this email account will be
analyzed to see if the sender needs to attend remedial reading classes."
If you think that's harsh - you ought to see the out of office message.
I'm hoping that this doesn't result in one of those late Friday afternoon
meetings with my boss.

Right click on the group in the NAB, Find document properties, click on
the access tab (the key) Modify who can access (read) the group document
limiting it to authorized users.
This works quite well. Any one sending to the group geta a you are not
authorized to read -error

Rob,
There are a couple of ways of handling this, but this is what I
have done in the past.
Create a mail in database for the "dead" address (what you DON't want to
receive mail from).
Create a form based on Memo from the mailX.ntf.
Modify the FROM field (current a computed formula), I suggested an address
lookup,
which would be copied from the To field on the same form.
Now the user can define who the message is SENT from.
The user doesn't need to switch IDs and there is a database which anyone
(you give) can send from.
Next: If you don't want replies from the message ever, (make the user
read your message and type a new memo)
Make the FROM field NULL. in the form.
Now a user attempting to reply will be warned that there is no recipient
in the to field.
Enjoy.

That works on sending a new message. However on the reply to something
else happens. It says you cannot find the address and suggests an
alternative one. If you click on Send Anyway instead of selecting the
suggested alternative it replies back to the person who sent the message.
Actually I should have tried this in the first place. While it doesn't
stop replies (when answered with Send Anyway) it is how we secured the
group All Users in the first place.

Rob,
You could have the secretary go to Delivery Options in the memo, then to
the Advanced tab and specify the address where the replies should go.

Actually, she prefers that over the "dummy" account. That way, if someone
does have a valid reply then someone will process it in a timely fashion.

You could have the secretary go to Delivery Options in the memo, then to
the Advanced tab and specify the address where the replies should go.
</snip>
That was the same area that allowed her to not get the "Out of Office"
replies on these mass communications. So she's digging it.
Thanks again.
