"Why not use a DB2 table and read it with a DECS activity."
I've got DECS running, created the connection successfully, created an
activity, mapped the four fields into the calendar fields, but when I
start the activity, and then add a record to my db2 table, I see errors to
the effect 'monitor failure - cannot locate corresponding external
record'.
The DECS Install & Users guide, in the troubleshooting/error messages
section lists that particular error stating:
The key values in the opened document being monitored by a Virtual Fields
Activity did not correspond to a record in the external system. This error
can be suppressed by selecting the Virtual Fields Activity option to
create the external record if it doesn?t exist - instead of the error, a
new record corresponding to the current Notes document data will be
created.
Problem is that I don't see the option to create the external record
anywhere in the activity create/config panels. I tried changing the
connection from a table to a view and that didn't seem to make any
difference either.
(And I see by searching the mailing list archive, in the past I've asked
plenty of questions about DECS - but I've never made it this far.)
