"Working" and "supported" are two different things.

Please, don't install 8.5.1 when 8.5.3 (and FP1) is out. There are tons of
bug fixes and 8.5.3 has been very stable as we have experienced.

Also, don't just put a link to nlnotes on the desktop to allow the user to
have basic. Instead, put in the use_basicnotes=1 notes.ini parameter and it
will launch basic if necessary. The upside to doing it this way is that if
any MS email functions are called (mailto: links or SendTo Email from Word,
etc...) then this will launch basic always. Otherwise Standard would try to
launch.

Hmmm - I have other Win7 users running 8.0.2 that don't exhibit this
problem.

"Secondly, check the launch properties of the Calendar that the user is
trying to open. Make sure that it isn't toggled to just launch as last
viewed but that it's set to launch the MailFS as the designated frameset.
This could be the primary problem - I've seen it many times."

I unchecked "restore as last viewed by user". Looking forward to testing
that one.

"What is the template version of the mail database in question?"

Mail8.ntf

Lastly, I have the operator scheduled to install 8.5.1 basic, but I
stopped him and said to let me know when he goes to do it as I will show
him how to install the full client, and then create a shortcut to basic
mode should the user desire to switch.

Thanks for the input Rob & Chris!

Thanks, Jerry
