Most likely you are not even using the C API so you can ignore that
option. Thus, you should be able to reinstall 8.5.3 without any issues. I
would suggest installing the Fix Pack before you build the Domino server
on that lpar so you don't have to end any of your servers to apply it.
As for your QNOTES question - I would expect that the commands in that
library will get overwritten when you install 8.5.3. Thus, if you just
copy/replace manually with the objects from QDOMINO901 library you'll be
fine.
Good luck and hope IBM can help you with your HTTP issue.

Subject: Installing 8.5.3FP5 on a server running 9.0.1
Sent by: domino400-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx
We have a serious HTTP issue that we didn't notice until we upgraded the
server to 9.0.1
The PMR is getting nowhere fast.
The backup plan is to load 8.5.3FP5 on to another lpar and duplicate the
server over there. It last ran successfully on 8.5.3FP3.
This other lpar used to be at 8.5.3FP3 also. We upgraded it to 9.0.1 and
removed 8.5.3.
Since both 8.5.3 and 9.0.1 use library QNOTES it won't hurt to install
8.5.3 after I've already upgraded to 9.0.1 will it?
Since only 1 version of the C api library is acceptable do I install
QNOTES, QNOTESRL and not QNOTESAP?
