But I don't think ST 8.5.2 doesn't support anything other than 7.
Upgrading it? I'm assuming you mean fix packs.

I go to our Sametime System Console URL.
I expand Sametime System Console.
I expand Sametime Servers.
I pick one, Sametime Proxy Servers.
This tells me the version of Sametime they are running. Not WAS.
