I feel like I am jumping into the middle of this thread without knowing all of the background so I am sorry if I repeat what someone has already posted. From the last couple of appends I think there are two key points: 1) Environment variable identifiers are case sensitive. There is a chance you set the "classpath" environment variable. That isn't what you want. You want to set the "CLASSPATH" environment variable since the JVM looks for classpath in all uppercase. In fact, you can have multiple environment variable that differ only in case. From a green screen do "addenvvar classpath abc" and "addenvvar CLASSPATH abc", then do wrkenvvar. You will see two environment variables. Assuming the Toolbox LP is installed on your AS/400, setting "CLASSPATH" should fix up QSHELL. Note -- you can also set classpath in QSHELL using the export command. Once in qshell, enter export CLASSPATH=/path1/path2:/path1/x.jar The path separator is the forward slash and the element separator is the colon. CLASSPATH must be uppercase 2) Number 1 should help you in qshell and the Java command, but it does you no good in WebSphere. WebSphere doesn't use the classpath environment variable. To change classpath in WebSphere, edit jvm.properties (WebSphere 1.x) or bootstrap.properties (WebSphere 2.x). I hope this helps, David Wall AS/400 Toolbox for Java "Richard Dean" <rddean@gdi.net> on 01/03/2000 11:23:15 AM Please respond to JAVA400-L@midrange.com To: JAVA400-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: RE: Servlets Thanks Richard (Dettinger), I am running V4R4M0 of the O/S. And we are still using WebSphere 1.1. I tried Classpath: /QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib/jt400.jar then /QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib/jt400.zip and I still got AS400JDBCDriver not found. I know that there is something basic that I am missing but I can not figure it out, hopefully letting you know the release might help.
